Some models Scott commonly uses are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Structural Family Therapy (SFT) among others. He currently also works for Te Whatu Ora as an individual and family therapist working with some of our most at-risk and challenging young people and families.
Scott also has an academic background and interest in business. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of a family business, which is a property development company. Principles from the field of psychology and therapy are often directly applicable to the world of business and professional development, and Scott aims to provide both knowledge and skills to help clients grow in both of these paradigms.
Scott strongly believes that therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative process, and he will endeavour to find an approach that best fits for the client. Whether its difficult past events that you are struggling to overcome or uncertainty about what path to take in the future, he will do his best to help you make sense of your experience and discover a way forward to a life that is more fulfilling.
